Amy Winehouse death-bet site promises iPod Touch to best prediction
Posted on January 3rd, 2008 in bizarre, iPod Touch |
If someone is seemingly doing their utmost to prematurely reduce their lifespan, is it wrong to bet an iPod Touch on it? That’s the question being asked by WhenWillAmyWhitehouseDie - or, more accurately, they’re asking you to ignore the moral question, suggest a date and, if you’re closest, you’ll win an iPod Touch for your prescient troubles.

The morals of betting on someone’s death and then winning by virtue of it seem more than a little dodgy, and it’s certainly a macabre way of getting your hands on an iPod Touch.
I’m curious to know what Apple-Touch readers thing about the site - is Amy fair game as a topical player in the public eye, or is this one step too far? Let us know in the comments.

I think it is appalling. God knows she is ‘troubled’ but to bet on her time of death is beyond wrong. And for anyone out there betting on this…perhaps positive reinforcement will get this supremely talented woman back on her feet.
I THINK THIS IS HORRENDOUS!!! PEOPLE NEED TO LEAVE HER THE HELL ALONE…WHERE’S THE LITTLE BLONDE WEIRDO THAT TOLD EVERYONE TO LEAVE BRITNEY ALONE???? HE SHOULD REALLY GET CRANKY WITH PEOPLE RAGGING ON AMY, THIS IS PATHETIC.
This is beyond bad taste. It’s cruel and morally reprehensible to place bets on when someone—anyone—will die. What’s happened to basic kindness and compassion? What has Amy Winehouse done to any of these people that they would respond in this manner? Even someone who is in the public eye deserves a chance to recover and sort herself out without this kind of abuse.
Disgusting. Absolutely disgusting.
Really not worth commenting on as it only serves to feed the amoral little trolls who run this site.
