As you all know Apple is going to be charging iPod Touch owners yet again for the new features of the software version 2.0. However it is not as it was last time by cutting the price in half to the reasonable price of $10. This is an ok amount to pay for all of the features you get with iPod Touch Version 2.0.

Many people are complaining of the new iPhone 3G price saying that our iPods cost more than the new iPhone and we still have to pay. This is an arguable topic because many people to not count the fact the 3G iPhone will have higher services charges which will cancel out any savings they will get for buying the cheaply pried device.
So what do you think? Are you excited for the App Store if so which Apps are you going to purchase upon the release of iPod Touch Software Version 2.0?

yes, people will grumble about a higher price of the ipod touch, but in September or whenever the new ones come out, the touch will likely have a 100 dollar lower price.
I doubt this, but rumor has it that around 70% of apps from the new App Store will be free. What’s 10 clams to get free apps, and others that could only cost as low as $2 -3? Remember - we can only use Web Apps right now - meaning we need a WiFi network to use them. With software apps, they are installed and can be used on-the-go. To me, that’s a HUGE plus. C’mon APP STORE!!!
“What’s 10 clams to get free apps”..
huh? If you have to pay “10 clams”, that is “free”?
i think jeff’s referring to the price of the 2.0 software, not the individual apps themselves… although i can’t say that ill be happy paying for the new software.
What is the price going to be in the UK?
I’m willing to pay the small fee to make my iTouch do what it should have done all the time, but if the apps don’t live up to the hype, this will be the last Apple device that I buy. The WiFi apps are useless, as there are no connections available most of the time. The only thing I use the iTouch for is music and movies. The calendar is anemic. There’s no cut and paste in anything. There’s not even a way to use a password to protect entries in the Contact list. I have no control over the way things are displayed on Calendar or Contacts. When I download weather it’s not saved, so if I lose the WiFi connection I lose the several days of weather it could have saved for me. The photo app won’t let me hide any photos, so there is no possibility of a private folder.
clarification: ‘clams’ is an American expression for dollars. Sorry for the confusion. I totally agree with Hwedhlor about the WiFi apps. Having actual apps will be so much better, mobility-wise.
will all the apps that u get when u jailbreak your iPod will they be available with the new update like customize
I highly doubt it, most of the people who develop apps for the jailbroken touch do not have access to a Mac. So they can not re-develop it for the iTunes App Store. And i do not know if Apple will allow customize apps that change the interface
I was just a bit disappointed to play with the new SDK just to find out I could not debug my new application on my iPod touch.
Ok I know you need iPod touch OS 2.0 to run your own design.
Just unable to find information on If SDK user could have access to a Beta Version of the new OS to test with I would pay $$$ to try. Or is some thing money can’t by even if you have the iPhone sdk to work with?
