Apple has been hit with a lawsuit stating they infringed the copyright on a touch-based interface. Other companies with similar touch devices were also hit with this lawsuit. These companies include Palm, Panasonic, Fujitsu, Samsung, Nokia and LG.

The plaintiff, Typhoon Touch Technologies has alleged these companies are infringing the patent they published by making their touch devices available on the market. This case was originally filed against Dell in December 2007 but extends to :millions of Devices”.
Typhoon has clamed for the past 12, it has held the two patents with the titles of “Portable Computer with Touch Screen and Computer System Employing Same” which claims that PDA and tablet PCs with touchscreen interfaces fall under this patient. With the growing popularity on touch-based phones this patent could have a significant impact on the adoption of this growing technology.
