Apple intro 32GB iPod Touch & 16GB iPhone
Posted on February 5th, 2008 in Apple, iPhone, iPod Touch, memory |
As beautiful as the iPod Touch is, a common criticism from avid collectors of music is that 16GB simply isn’t enough to store their entire collection. Today Apple have offered a solution: 32GB of flash memory in the same, 8mm thick chassis, and yours for $499.

The existing 8GB and 16GB versions are still available, priced at $299 and $399 respectively, and the latest 32GB version apparently ships in 1-2 business days.
Apple also announced an update to the iPhone, introducing a new 16GB model to accompany the original 8GB version. Priced at $499, it of course requires a contract with AT&T.

THIS IS SICK, IMA GET ONE NOW!!!
I’m sticking with getting a 16GB Touch, the 32GB is tempting if I’m Donald Trump.
Of course, just after I bought the 16 gig three weeks ago and would’ve liked a larger one. Oh well.
32GB? Pah! My 8GB one is more than enough for me!
i just got the 16 gb for my son 2 days ago after being told by he sales rep that there were no plans to increase the size.. fortunately, my son did not open the package –he told me at the time that the moment he opens it they will come out with a larger model. i guess he was right and now i have to go back and return the 16 gb model. hate to say this, but this process is getting old, kind of like what they did with the iphone.
How convenient - announcing this upgrade just past Apple’s 2-week return policy cut off since Macworld. Many people (including myself) held out making a purchase for both iPod Touch and iPhones because we were waiting for upgrade announcements at Macworld. With no word of upgrades, and thinking there would be at least a 6-month wait (again), there were a flurry of sales at Apple stores right after Job’s keynote. Is Steve-O trying to clear out old inventory? There was no reason (other than that) that I can think of as to why he couldn’t make this announcement this past January 15th. Apple - you’re really beginning to disappoint me.
