I’ve always known that the screen on the iPhone is super scratch resistance, and thank goodness the iPod touch inherited a similar resilient screen. To prove it, Mitchell from GearDiary wanted to know if the iPod touch would scratch easily.

[Update 10:10pm Sept 15,2007] Just came home with the second iPod touch and guess what?! Surprise, surprise the problem still exists! This has to be a widespread problem and not isolated as I’d hoped.
There’s nothing worse than coming home with your shiny new toy to find a major problem with it — in the case of the iPod touch, the screen is defective. There seems to be what is called the negative black effect. It’s hard to explain so I’ve put together a sample video with the iPod touch next to the iPhone playing the same video.

Apple promised us that we would see the iPod Touch hit stores in a couple of weeks (Sept 28, 2007). Well, don’t look for it to be out for another two weeks (I specified another day/date in the unboxing video, mistakenly). However, I’ve already gotten our hands on one.

In case you missed it, I attended the Apple Event on September 5th, you know, the one where the iPod Touch was announced, anyways, I was able to get some hands on time and some pretty good footage of the iPod Touch in action. There isn’t much more to say other than Action!
