Resembling a pulpit for your iPod Touch to preach the Good Word of Apple from, this is in fact the Bird-Electron EX-18B, a speaker-stand for your favorite PMP.  Connecting via the headphone socket, the 7cm-high unit has a single, 60mm “full-range” speaker in the base section, and is marketed as the ideal way to watch movies on your Touch.

Leaving aside the dubious aesthetics, the fact that the speaker is mono and the lack of internal amplification, the EZ-18B does have a few sensible features: the non-slip, scratch-proof silicon mat that your Touch rests on is a nice addition, and at 275g it should be stable enough to cope with you prodding at the screen. 

Still, the fixed-angle (45-degrees, in fact) of the stand means you’ll have to move it around in order to avoid reflections, and there’s no slouching back to watch the latest iTunes movie rental.
