Although your iPod may be able to withstand extreamly cold temperatures, your finger tips no so much. In fact the many gestures you use to control your device when done when your fingers are cold could result to a injury called RSI.

RSI (Repetive Strain Injury) is mainly caused by hitting and tapping objects with the tips of your fingers while they are cold. And thats all you do to control the iPod Touch and the iPhone. This isnt a very serious injury and mainly leads to aches and pains. A form of this injury is more commonly known as carpal Tunnel Syndrome.

Apple has declined to comment on this matter, but it is just one of those normal injurys to be worried about in your day-to-day life. So in conclusion try not to use your iPod Touch in cold situations and if you have to, try warming your fingers up.
