iPod touch now running Mail, Google Maps, and more

Although this is not for the average user, and is also not available for the public yet, some hackers have decrypted the ramdisk and are now busy installing applications. So far the, Mail, Maps, and other 3rd party apps are up and running on their jailbreaked Touches.
Now its just matter of time until there countless apps. Seen here is the weather app for the iPod Touch.
Because of Apples lack of these apps on the iPod Touch 3rd party developers will definitely make up the lake of apps. So in a few weeks the jailbreak will become easier or even automatic so many iPod Touch owners can install all they apps they want and make their Touch personal.

I wanted to say that I spent 5 minutes at a Best Buy in Canada yesterday. Google Maps — as seen on my desktop — worked perfectly.
Later I surfed Apple’s list of 3rd Party apps and was impressed — yet disappointed — to see that most came with a price tag.
The iTouch is an astonishing, revolutionary device — like Atari Computers of days gone by! However, I may have to reconsider the Nokia N 800 as I am not wiling to pay for software that I may only occasionally use at yet-to-be identified hotspots!
hi, writing from my iPod touch! Wasn’t Apple supposed to provide us the iCal and notes app as there were some bugs in them?
