iPod Touch Accessories

So its getting a lot closer to the 28th and I am hoping to get an iPod Touch. As such I have been doing some more research on some iPod Touch accessories trying to figure out which accessory will be my first purchase. Will it be a screen protector, a case, or an FM transmitter?
Right now I have no idea, I am kind of leaning towards either a case or a screen protector. ZAGG Inc. makes a pretty good screen protector that fits the iPhone, and thusly fits the iPod Touch, its called invisibleSHIELD. It was initially created for the edges of helicopter blades, but now they are precision cutting pieces of this transparent material to fit your iPhone and now the iPod Touch. They cut it so it comes in several pieces that altogether cover the entire device, not just the screen, so this would solve two problems. The best part, this accessory is covered for life, you scratch it or wear it down, and they will replace it, free. It’s $24.95 and is available for pre-order now.
Then on the cases front, I have been having a hard time even considering covering up this beautiful shiny amazing device with anything even remotely less attractive. There are lots of cases out there, but I am looking for something nice, something that feels good, and is easy to use. The only case I saw on the Apple store that was listed for the iPod Touch was the iPod socks, which is fine, and would serve its purpose, but they are all kind of girly, and that’s fine, but not for me. For this accessory, I am going for a flip case, likely made from leather, with a professional, but appealing performance. The Belkin iPod Touch leather folio case that Vincent wrote up a few days ago is really the perfect one for me, there isn’t any clips or anything like that dangling off of it, it’s attractive, and it should do the job well, providing some extra shock protection and durability due to its leather exterior and it covers the screen so I don’t have to lock the iPod every time. It’s $29.99 and should be shipping around October 15th.
The next set of accessories I would look into buying are ways to spread my media around. Basically a dock of some sort for my computer, a dock for my home theater, and a dock, or charger, or FM transmitter, or something of that nature for my car. iLuv has recently released the i707 which is a car dock that both charges and transmits your music from your iPod wirelessly and it looks like the iPod Touch, sort of. So that looks like my best solution for my car. The iLuv i707 is retailing online now for about $40.
Then the standard Apple accessories should cover my home and pc with the Apple Universal Dock that has a remote combined with the Apple Component AV Cable. The universal dock will work with any iPod with a dock connector and the AV cable will work with the Universal Dock. Each piece, the dock, and the cables, are $49 for a total of $98.
So there you have it, a list of accessories for the iPod Touch, just some examples of what’s already available. So for about $193 you can be fully protected, fashionable, and watching videos and listening to music everywhere. There will of course be more accessories to come, and we will be there to tell you about them.
