At Macworld today, Steve announced an update for the iPod touch to bring it more in line with the iPhone. An update can be obtained today for $20 bringing Mail, Maps, Stocks, Weather, and Notes to the iPod touch. The upgrade will give iPod touch access to Wi-Fi cell triangulation virtual GPS, and Webclips to customize your homescreen. Most of everything the iPhone has will be ported over to the iPod touch to make it more of an all-in-one device.

Yes, I already have most of those apps on my ipod touch, so it feel strange to have to pay for it. Come On!!

I think its a move in the right direction. For $20 you get an imap,pop,exchange client built into something you bought that you knew it didn’t have. Microsoft does the same thing with their Service Packs. Its business, enjoy it!
i think its a joke also, we shouldnt have to pay more for what we already paid $435.00 for! They are already Billionaires off of the I-Pod. If we weren’t so stupid and bought it without asking what the extra charges are… We should have asked so that we wouldn’t have this arguement!
Common… whine! Its just a software upgrade. Basically you’re paying for 5 widgets which comes out to 4 bucks a widget. Honestly, that is steep for a widget. A better model would have been to allow iPhone and iTouch users to add or remove widgets, that is truly worth the $20. I honestly don’t have a use for stock widget, but on my dashboard I have all these same widgets in play, but a few others that save me a lot of time and energy. But if Apple so chooses this model to update the devices, then so be it. Does it make me want to stop liking or using Apple products. Nope, not at all. Am I annoyed, nope, Its $20, or just a few drinks at the bar or something else I’d choose to spend it on.
