Last month many rumors were going around that the iPhone and iPod Touch would get a price drop. However, instead the iPod Touch got a 32 GB flavor, and the iPhone got a 16 Gb size bump. At the time it was very unlikely for a price drop because of the bump in capacity sizes.

But lately more and more sources claim the iPod Touch and iPhone’s price is going down. This could be the result in a possible 3G iPhone coming in June or just the drop of prices on materials.
A week back Apple’s Dutch iTunes store was running an ad that shows the iPod touch, starting at only 199 euro. This represents a 80 euro difference from the official price of the iPod touch which starts at 279 euro. This could be a simple error or a major hint that the price drop is likely.

A 3G iPhone? Don’t you mean a 32G iPhone???
nope a 3G iPhone. It is a faster wireless connection… right now the iPhone has EDGE not 3G
what would 199 euro translate into american money?
the price on the ipod touches needs to be dropped. its ridiculous how much they are with the economy like this. I thought they were 200 or 300 bucks tops, but 400 dollar for an 32 g ipod? come on.
