Patent: Detailed Full Size Multi-Touch Interface from Apple

While rumors surrounding a Multi-Touch Mac Tablet have been circulating for a few years, these rumors became more and more plausible due to the Touch Interface that Apple introduced with the iPhone in 2007. A patent that was discovered Thursday detailed how a full size touch interface would work on a tablet.

This patent specifically details how you would gain access to smaller controls, i.e. close, Minimize and maximize. This patent also details how swiping and scrolling could manipulate on screen actions as well as controlling a Multi-Touch keyboard.
“Apple explains that on a tablet Mac, the buttons of a control box may be smaller than a users finger and located close together. Therefore it may be difficult for the user to make a selection directly without possibly pressing an undesirable button. To solve this problem, at least a portion of the control box would be enlarged, including the buttons therein when the user places their thumb over the control box.”

Many sites are pointing to the 2008-2009 time frame for Apple to release a Multi-Touch Tablet. However, these are just speculations and should not be taken to seriously.
