When it first premièred on April 1st people were skeptical because of the unlikely date of “April Fools Day”. However, now more proof has been pouring in. Including a YouTube video showing two iPod Touches playing the game against each other.

The developers HermitWorks, have posted a short blog entry showing a awesome video of Quake III Arena running on two iPod Touch’s. This uses a relatively new concept to the iPod Touch, Network Play. Check out the video on YouTube
The games looks as if it runs at a very high frame rate. To control it, you use accelerometer for movement and screen taps for firing. No word yet on if they plan to make this an official app for the iTunes App Store or to have it be available for download via installer.app; stay tuned for more details.
