Around the month of September every year Apple holds a iPod dedicated event where they announce what new players they will have over the coming year. Rumors are going around that we will see a newly designed Nano with a larger screen and is similar to the Zune player in design. A new rumor just surfaced that it is possible that a 64 GB version of the iPod Touch will be announced.

One if the many draw backs to the iPod Touch to many people is it does not have enough storage. With 64 GB of storage the iPod Touch will be a fully functional portable media device. We can only see what will happen at the iPod Even coming up soon.
Stay tuned to Apple-Touch for more event coverage in the future.

I’m going to try to last at least another year until I upgrade. I spent $400 on 16GB and I’d like to only spend $300 (or less) next time, hopefully for 64GB or larger.
I’ve been waiting for a 64 GB iPod Touch too. 32 GB is not enough for me.
I’ll purchase the 64 GB Touch on the day it’s announced.

I’ve been on the fence between the Classic and the Touch. I’m currently suffering with a 4G iPod Mini. I NEED more than 32G and I want the functionality of the Touch.
I’m not trying to spend more than $350 though.
Lavadis, there’s no way Apple will sell anything bigger than a 32 GB iPod Touch for a price that low this year, unless they switch from a flash drive to the kind of hard drive they use in the Classic. (And I don’t know whether that switch would be technically practical.)
i cant wait untill i get my 64 gb
It will be too expensive. This kind of memory (flash) is too expensive-
Flash memory is so very INEXPENSIVE that Apple is almostcompelled to provide a 64GB Touch soon. See other providers selling flash-based drives at half the price of Apple? Remember with an iPod, there is a lot of premium added to the product, as you are buying a brand - Apple. 64GB will be here sooner than later…
I found some interesting news about a possible leaked ad from Apple about the new upcoming touch 64 GB

Well actually, if they used a solid state drive (similar to a flash drive in size, although it functions a little differently but that’s a bit overly technical to get into) they could meet the size requirements because solid state drives are not as large as regular hard disk drives, as they don’t require a motor, while increasing the memory of the itouch and hopefully keeping the price down as well (as long as they don’t want too high of profit margin, which they may very well want).
