The iPod Touch like so many gadgets before it has been officially smothered in crystals. Putting it on the long list of gadgets customized to be shiny. I’m not really sure what the fascination with covering gadgets in Swarvoski crystals is, but apparently Selfridges felt it needed to be done.

The horrible part isn’t really that they covered it in crystals, I’m beginning to get use to that. It’s just that they put a cheesy ring design on the back of it. What self respecting person would carry that around? Well, besides some spoiled rotten bride-to-be with a fiance that has way too much money to throw around.

Apparently it is being sold as the modern day proposal, I’m all about progress and I have my fair share of gadgets. However, if I were handed this I’d probably hand it back and be looking for a new boyfriend. Not only is the design horribly cheesy, but they didn’t even have it out in time for Valentines Day. The ring design has a special 24k gold coating and the gem features silver crystals. It should be out within the next week, it is being sold for about $1, 770 there is also a iPod Nano version that will be sold for $1, 473.
