Recently Apple has not been so nice to all of their early adapters and see them as just another way to make a few bucks. This started at the “Beat Goes On” Keynote in late 2007. Here they announced the $200 dollar price drop for the iPhone and left many people unhappy.

This continued at Macworld 2008 with the announcement of iPhone apps on the iPod Touch. The apps will of course be preinstalled BUT all of the people who had been there from the start will be slapped with a $20 fee to install the apps for themselves.

Hang onto your Jailbreak, CNet France are reporting that this Saturday will see Apple release the latest firmware upgrade for the iPod Touch and iPhone. Expected to be v1.1.3, a weekend release would make it around a month since the last update (that added international keyboard languages, among other things, to the iPhone just prior to its European launch), a reasonable length of time for what are suspected to be well-requested feature additions. The consensus appears to be that voice recording software and the facility to use the iPod Touch (and iPhone) in disk mode as a portable hard-drive are the two significant functions in 1.1.3.

Seeqpod is by far the coolest and most useful web application usable by Safari on both the iPod touch and iPhone. Seeqpod is an application that lists music by popular searches from open web servers it finds. Not sure about the legality of this, but it’s definitely a great web application.

The application lets you search for artists or tracks of your choice, or will let you chose from popular artists and playlists. The popular artists section gives a nice current list of artists, most of them you will know who they are.

Catching, well, just about everyone by surprise, it’s taken less than 24hrs for hackers to break the v1.1.2 firmware that Apple released for the iPod Touch.
