We have all been wondering when the official release of the App Store will be released. With early speculations stating that it will be live on the 27th-28th were false. All of the websites had no conformation from the keynote or Steve Jobs himself when it would be released.

Recently Apple reps have commented that this info was tucked away in the iPhone 3G press release. So on July 11, 2008 the iPod Touch version 2.0 will be available for immediate download of $10. TG Daily has now reported that the latest iTunes beta (iTunes 7.7) hints at a new free application that will be offered by Apple for iPod Touch and iPhone owners. This application will be named Remote and will allow owners to access iTunes wirelessly from anywhere in their home.

Apple has been hit with a lawsuit stating they infringed the copyright on a touch-based interface. Other companies with similar touch devices were also hit with this lawsuit. These companies include Palm, Panasonic, Fujitsu, Samsung, Nokia and LG.

Since the lower iPhone price of $199 many people don’t understand why the iPod Touch can run up to $500 and still have to pay for software upgrades. In the Apple Stores nation wide has been some very low inventory counts of the iPod Touch. Many people believe the price will drop in September.

The Australian iPod Touch Site recently showed the picture below. Since then the picture was taken off and has not been seen since. The App store was talked about a lot in Apple’s Keynote but no launch dates were provided. This could infact mean the App store will be released on the 29th of this month.
