Looks like the SIP-VoIP team over at touchmods.net have been busy. Last we heard, v.1 of the software that allows the iPod Touch to be used as a VoIP phone via its WiFi connection had launched, and the guys were busy putting together microphone schematics and parts lists. Now, there’s a pretty healthy list of 25 compatible SIP-based VoIP services - including the popular Gizmo Project and Asterisk - and they’ve just sold out of their first batch of 1200 microphone adaptors, priced at $45 a pop.

Among the many cases I got in the mail today, I got this one as well, its from Speck Products, and is called the TechStyle Classic case. Essentially it’s a pouch type case that has an open front and a belt clip.

So I got this case in today with a bunch of others, and I had been sort of wanting one of these for a while, and then I got it, and it looked even nicer than it does in the product image. Even better yet, my concerns of still needing a screen protector even with this were alleviated by the fact that it comes with one that’s the perfect size for the screen.

I received a batch of cases today, and other than a case that I already had one of, and had previously reviewed, this one was by far my favorite. Part of that is probably because I am a big fan of flip cases, part of it is due to the functionality of the case.
