Tunewear iPod Touch Cases

Posted on November 28th, 2007 in iPod Touch, iPod Touch Accessories, iPod Touch Cases | No Comments »

Tunewear sells a wide variety of cases and accessories for most of Apple’s portable products, but this time it’s a case for the iPod touch. The Icewear case is made of tough silicone and has Tunewear’s patented “rib technology” for a strong grip.

Though the case does not cover the screen, we have all seen in pasts tests that the screen is probably the most rugged part of the entire iPod touch or iPhone. Leaving it unprotected allows for maximum use of the phone while still having the rest of it protected.

Jailbroken iPod touch Seen In iSkin touch Photo Gallery

Posted on November 22nd, 2007 in iPod Touch, iPod Touch Accessories, iPod Touch Cases, jailbreak, third-party software | No Comments »

If this doesn’t show just how popular the iPod touch jailbreak is, I don’t know what will. Seen in the picture is an iPod touch with iSkin’s model “touch”, and most importantly; installer.app, ApolloIM, and what appears to be finder.

iPod touch jailbroken

Jailbreaking is catching on amongst users, while I personally think the iPod touch and iPhone are both ridiculously boring without 3rd party apps and definitely have more of a potential selling. The multitouch screen is revolutionary and with games such as “Hockey” from iApp-a-Day, the iPhone and iPod touch’s potential is clearly shown.

DIY wooden iPod Touch case

Posted on November 20th, 2007 in DIY, iPod Touch Accessories, iPod Touch Cases | 3 Comments »

Having very few practical skills myself, I’m more than happy to choose from the multitude of aftermarket iPod Touch cases (such as can be found in our own Accessories Store), but if you’re handier with a Dremel then maybe you’d like to emulate Michael Dinsmore’s DIY wooden case.  Constructed using scrap plywood and pine, the flip-top sheath has a spring-mounted false-bottom that cushions the iPod from knocks and jolts.

If you’ve been waiting for the right iPod-compatible speaker dock to come along, Cambridge Soundworks may have just the thing for you.  Though to be fair, to call the i765 a “speaker dock” is to do it a disservice; with built-in DVD and CD player, FM/AM radio and subwoofer it’s actually squaring up to quite a bit of your existing hifi equipment.

GEAR4 BlackBox

Posted on November 7th, 2007 in iPod Touch, iPod Touch Accessories, media | 1 Comment »

This Bluetooth speaker system is overly reminiscent of the Apple Hi-Fi, but black, with cool sound graphics on the front, and Bluetooth. I have to admit, the black box with red LED graphical EQ is something I am a bit of a sucker for myself.

Does it use some proprietary Bluetooth technology to transfer the audio? Nope, A2DP, which means you, might already have a phone that works with the speakers.

Posted on October 26th, 2007 in Apple, iPod Touch, iPod Touch Accessories | No Comments »

In a dream crushing reality check, it turns out the Apple Store slip up that led some to believe an 80 and 160GB iPod Touch might be coming has been quashed. It never fails, they always take away all our hopes.

apple messup

The slip up came in the sales page of an iPod Touch case where it said the case fit the 80 and 160 gigabyte iPod Touch models. Clearly they meant to remove the zeros, their bad.
