Connecting via the headphone socket, the 7cm-high unit has a single, 60mm “full-range” speaker in the base section, and is marketed as the ideal way to watch movies on your Touch.

With a design leaf seemingly taken out of Bose’s book, only embracing the iPod Touch (and its siblings), iLuv’s i255 might have a daft name but it’s certainly not short of functionality. Not only is there a dock compatible with the iPod Touch, iPod classic (80GB, 160GB), iPod Nano 3rd Gen and iPod with video (30GB, 60GB, 80GB), but a DVD player too.

If you’ve been waiting for the right iPod-compatible speaker dock to come along, Cambridge Soundworks may have just the thing for you. Though to be fair, to call the i765 a “speaker dock” is to do it a disservice; with built-in DVD and CD player, FM/AM radio and subwoofer it’s actually squaring up to quite a bit of your existing hifi equipment.
